Keys to the Kingdom is a life-changing program initiated by Tina Jones, the CCR Counselor, and our late Chief of Staff, Jason Forde, with the purpose of introducing our students to Historically Black College Universities (HBCU). The goal of the program is to expose our students to the numerous opportunities that HBCUs have to offer in terms of education and career development. This program provides an opportunity for our students to get a taste of what HBCUs have to offer, from the faculty to the culture, and see if it is the right fit for them.
The trip is now in its second year, with 22 students taking part in the journey. The experience has been incredibly meaningful for students, providing them with a firsthand look at what HBCUs have to offer and helping them make an informed decision about their future education.
The program has had a significant impact on our students, with many of them receiving acceptances to HBCUs, including some of the most prestigious institutions in the country. These acceptances have come in the areas of STEM, Law, Engineering, and Business, fields in which HBCUs are well known for producing highly successful graduates.
This year, we will have our first group of graduates from three HBCU institutions. This is a significant milestone for our students and a testament to the success of the program. However, we are still in need of funding to keep the program going and ensure that future generations of students have access to this life-changing experience.
We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to all those who have supported the Keys to the Kingdom program. Your continued support of our students is greatly appreciated and will go a long way in helping them achieve their full potential.
